Pick the wrong builder and your ADU stalls in permitting and runs over budget.
I initially wanted deck replacement and portion of a fence repaired. Once I saw the quality of work performed I used Volcano Builders for several additional projects, from replacing window trim to the demolition and construction of new work shop that blends in perfectly with the existing structure.
They were very up front with cost break down and were aligned and lower with other bids we received. The most important thing to me is communication and Sapir our PM was incredible through out the process. A remodel or any type of build can be stressful but working with Sapir and Volcano Build they took the stress away.
Volcano did a master bath remodel for us. The project was completed efficiently and on time. All of their workman were courteous and hard working. When we had a couple of material delivery delays they kindly adjusted their schedules. Their pricing was fine and the terms of the contract were fulfilled. We highly recommend Volcano Building.
Volcano builders did a phenomenal job on my bathroom remodel. They exceeded my expectations on many levels. Their designer helped me pick out all the tile and bathroom accessories to make sure everything matched in style. Communication was great and response time very fast whenever I had questions for them. They estimated the project would take 5-6 weeks but finished in 4 weeks!
We hired Volcano Builders to completely remodel our kitchen, and it was a great experience overall. The project manager kept us up to date, and the workers were polite in our home. There were a few small delays, but the end result was worth it. I would definitely suggest it.
Very personable and responsive! Did an initial quote that was fair and reasonable which helped build trust for future projects.

Most Washington cities inside urban growth areas must allow two ADUs per lot, attached or detached, and cannot require the owner to live on the property. Whether your lot qualifies still depends on its size, critical areas, access, utilities and your city’s code. That is what our feasibility and site study checks before any plans are drawn.
We do. We prepare and submit the permit package, coordinate the engineering, and answer the city’s correction requests. Review time is set by your city and depends on the project, so after the site study you get a project-specific schedule, and we update you at every stage.
ADU conversions start at $150K, attached ADUs at $225K and new detached DADUs at $350K, as the pricing table above shows. Size, site work, foundation, utility connections and finishes move the number most. After a consultation you get a fixed, written proposal before construction starts.
